Water Leak Damages Walls and Carpets in a Mid-City Home
The Before Photo is a work in progress in this Mid-city home. The water line leaked and wet the carpet as it also wicked into the lower level of the walls. SERVPRO® technicians can lift the flooring material from the tack strips and "float the carpet" to dry out the concrete subfloor and the padding in this case. Weep holes, having been drilled into the drywall but to be covered up by the baseboard trim, allowed for drainage and drying of the wall voids. We can also use an injectidry machine which forces warm air into the holes to minimize the drying time and further limiting potential damage. The After Photo depicts the carpet, dried and stretched, back in place "Like it never even happened."
